Start with the daily loop
We prototyped the check-in flow before anything else and tested it against the shortest realistic session — open, log, close. Everything that did not serve that loop moved out of the first screen.

Nurture is a concept for a health and wellness product built around daily practice rather than one-off motivation. The scenario explores a mobile-first experience that helps people log how they are doing, see progress honestly, and come back tomorrow without being nagged into it.
The concept shows how we would connect product definition, interface design, application architecture and release planning so the experience and the system behind it evolve together.
The challenge
What made this hard
- Wellness apps are easy to download and easy to abandon. The hard part is the second week: the moment a check-in feels like admin instead of care.
- The product also had to handle sensitive personal information with restraint — collecting only what it needed, storing it carefully, and never turning a bad day into a punishing streak-loss screen.
- On top of that, the audience is broad. The interface had to be legible on older devices and small screens, and usable one-handed in the few seconds someone actually has.

How we shaped the build
Progress without pressure
Streaks, reminders and summaries were designed to be encouraging rather than punitive. Missed days are absorbed by the interface instead of being announced in red.
A calm, accessible interface
Generous type, high-contrast states, large touch targets and motion that supports comprehension instead of decorating it — tested with system text scaling turned up.
Privacy-considered data model
Personal entries are scoped tightly, transmitted over encrypted channels and structured so that analytics can answer product questions without reading anyone's journal.

A single-screen entry point that captures mood, activity and notes in seconds, with sensible defaults so the fastest path is one tap.
Habit builder
Users define their own routines and cadence. The app adapts reminders to when they actually engage rather than a fixed schedule.

Trends over weeks and months, written in plain language, so the story is readable at a glance instead of demanding interpretation.
Offline-tolerant sync
Entries are written locally first and reconciled when connectivity returns, so a weak signal never costs someone their log.
Content library
Guided sessions and articles served from a structured content backend, so the team can publish without a release.
Insight for the team
An internal dashboard covering engagement and retention patterns at cohort level — enough to steer the roadmap, never enough to identify a person.
