PeakFlow is a concept for an internal financial operations platform—the queues, approvals, reconciliations and reporting that a growing finance team runs every day. The scenario replaces a patchwork of spreadsheets, email threads and manual exports with one system of record.
The concept demonstrates how we would connect product architecture, interface design, application engineering and cloud infrastructure around the needs of day-to-day operators.
The challenge
What made this hard
- Money workflows are unforgiving. A dashboard that is merely attractive is worthless if a number is stale, a permission is loose, or an action cannot be explained six months later.
- The existing process was distributed across tools nobody owned. Two people could reach different answers from the same data, and nobody could reconstruct who changed what.
- Volume was growing faster than headcount, so the platform had to remove manual steps without removing the human judgement that legitimately belonged in the loop.

How we shaped the build
Correctness before cleverness
State transitions are explicit and validated server-side, amounts are handled with exact arithmetic, and no screen can put a record into a state the domain model disallows.
Auditable by design
Every consequential action writes an immutable trail — who, what, when, from which value to which. Role-based access keeps sensitive actions to the people who own them.
Automate the repetition, keep the judgement
Matching, routing and status updates run automatically; anything ambiguous is surfaced as a clear exception for a person to decide, rather than silently guessed.
